Conga Document Generation can be a bit glitchy. We use it in salesforce for our quotes. It honestly seems like a better tool for the enterprise. We are very transactional. Hundreds of sales per month which isn't the best for Conga because of the time it takes to build out each quote.
  • Calculates accurate quotes.
  • Customers can somewhat easily sign the agreements.
  • It integrates with Salesforce pretty well.
  • It could be much faster for SMB teams.
  • It would be nice if there was more customization for organizations that have SMB, enterprise, mid-market instead of having it all used the same.
  • Their support team could be a little stronger/quicker to help.
I think it's definitely better suited for enterprise teams that are doing bigger more complex deals. With SMB we need the signup process to be extremely quick and simple since we do so many sales per month. It is pretty easy to use, but just not that quick.

We use Conga to create documents, create agreements, create labels, capture signatures, and capture payment information. We also use Conga to generate inventory reports. I believe we have a very complex use scenario for Conga and happily, it meets all our needs.

  • Query difficulty.
It's more suited if your processes are well established and you don't change a lot. Once you get a document up and going it's good to go but it can take a long time to get there. Be careful if you have multiple record types.

We use Conga Composer for simple document production. Our Conga instance is imbedded in our Salseforce platform, and is very useful for generating specific documents we need to produce for our donors. For example, we generate invoices and acknowledgments to our donors on an individual ad-hoc basis, and we are able to send them via email to our constituents. This saves time and also allows us to operate with a smaller printing budget.

Conga Composer is well suited for individual one off creation of certain documents. It doesn't seem to be as well suited for bulk data needs, at least not with the version that my organization is subscribed for.

We use Conga Composer and Conga sign to send all of our business proposals as well as other documents such as engagement letters. This involves converting PowerPoint and Word files into a writeable document within Conga. From there we are able to use the template builder and merge tags to automate writing client information to the document. This document is sent to our client lists to request a signature or other confirmation. The signed document is then saved back to our Salesforce on the appropriate record. The entire process as I've described it is very simple and intuitive, even for a first time user.

For background, I am an Accidental Admin in Salesforce, which is to say I inherited this role after a personnel change so I have had to learn all of this on the fly. In addition to being easy to use, Conga provides great support and every problem that I have run into has been fixed quickly and I have been able to keep my users happy.

We use it in conjunction with Salesforce CPQ so users can create quotes associated with opportunities and then press create quote, and it pulls in all legal documents as well as quote information into one succinct PDF that the user can then send off to their potential customer and get approved. It's made our selling process much more efficient.

It's well suited for CPQ users and makes it easy for us to have everything in one place. It's great for when users need to constantly make minute adjustments to quotes, and then they can produce the quote easily and have it presented to the client. We have to be able to get quotes out quickly for us to win jobs.

We use Conga to generate PDFs of insertions orders as well as to get clients and vendors to sign off on those orders. This helps us generate orders in a way that is user friendly (i.e. readable) as well as allows us to keep a paper trail of order versions via signatures.

We use Conga Collaborate to create proposals for our form. It helps the marketing team respond to RFPs and other proposals very quickly and efficiently, with transparency among team members. We store our standard industry and service proposal templates in the software and also generate new ones with it. We can regularly update our templates and add new ones when we have a new service or industry.

I think it's not as robust for drag and drop edits as competitors. Pricing is competitive, but we have little interaction with our rep, and support is limited unless you add a support plan. I like having all of our proposal templates stored in one place and having transparency among which team member has made edits.

For a home loan application in a bank, to generate various documents like an offer letter, advice Letter, and pilot loan application. A document generation tool that helps us not only generate the document but also allow as to build and automate the documents. If you want to generate pixel-perfect rich documents in Salesforce like quotes, invoices, contracts, etc., then using Conga Composer in Salesforce is the way to go.

Our team utilizes Conga Collaborate as a hub for all sales collateral and documents. We have it integrated with Salesforce.com Opportunity stages so that our Opportunity info populates in the templates in Conga. We also utilize the e-signature piece for contracts. We are able to see when someone views a document and when it's been signed.

Conga Collaborate works well being tied to Salesforce opportunity stages. We have different documents that are generated for each stage. It is easy to create and send out proposals, which saves our team a lot of time. Their support team is quick and helpful.

It's not as great for general sales presentations or slide decks.

Conga is used to create complex docs within Salesforce that can't be done natively. Creating multiple work orders for a shipping team as well as mass updating orders once docs are created.

We use it to generate statements of work (SOWs) during the final stage of our sales process. It offers a consistent look at our contracts. It is used by our entire organization. It allows us to track revisions and client questions. It integrates with Salesforce and when a SOW is signed, the opp is closed, or "won", which saves us time during our process. It also allows us to track when people are in the SOW and monitor what they spend time on which is helpful.
  • Looks good, our SOW has a clean look and feel and is very easy to read on all devices
  • Offers to track. You can view all the pages someone looks at. This helpful when determining when the project will close.
  • Multiple revisions. Really easy to make multiple updates to the SOW and keep track of those revisions.
  • Formatting is weak. Sometimes the UX for bold, underline, etc. do not work well. Copy and paste functionality can be buggy at times.
  • At times, we have a difficulties with the connection between SFDC and the tool, and sometimes the SOW does not appear in the opportunity record in SFDC.
  • Takes a while to get it looking good in terms of a final SOW. It can be time consuming and not very easy to learn as a beginner.
It works or our organization. For an organization with a much larger product sales scope, I could see it being clunky to format every single time. I have used other tools in the past like SFDC CPQ. Octiv seems, to me, to be the same thing. Web based proposal tool that offers to track, and e-signing. It seems to work for us.

We are using Conga Composer to populate a variety of forms that are respectively used regularly in their department. These forms range from supporting our claims process with customers to bid submittals on the sales side. It is allowing us to reduce time in the claims management process. For bid submittals it creates consistency, reduces time creating the bid and allows us to track multiple iterations of the bid.

  • We needed to use an implementation partner to set these up, but I think that is symptomatic of Salesforce and not this program
We keep finding new uses for Conga Composer. If you have a process that requires data entry plus form submission, you will find this tool incredibly useful. We have reduced the amount of time spent entering duplicate data and have increased efficiency in three processes that have been moved into Salesforce and are facilitated by Conga Composer. If your processes do not require form submission, it may not be as beneficial to you.

Our entire organization uses Conga Composer to generate estimates, proposal templates, scope of work documents (SOWs) and more. Their native availability on the Salesforce platform was key to our decision to use Conga.

Conga Composer is ideal for generating sales and marketing documents from Salesforce. Just add the merge tags to a Word, Excel or Powerpoint document, and you can create a document with just a few clicks, directly from a Salesforce object.

We use Conga Composer as our mail merge product in conjunction with Salesforce. Printed correspondence is still of value to us when communicating with parents and prospective college students. Our mailing vary from single letters to multi page/document packets that are mailed with binding admission decisions. Conga Composer allows us to create this correspondence and also to log the activity in the student's individual Salesforce record. We are primarily using it with the Office of Admission; however, we communicate to over 10.000 applicants each year.

  • It has improved over the years but there are times when the reports run slowly.
  • I would like to see more of an email functionality.

Conga works well for us when it comes to personalizing each student's admit packet. The packet of information can have on average 4 pages of personalized information based on a particular status of the application or certain attributes coded in the student's Salesforce record. We are able to streamline the process of printing large scale jobs.

It's currently in beta mode at our company. We've tried rolling it out to everyone but there's a lot of confusion/backend fixes that are need to be made.
  • It removes the need to send proposals/SOWs
  • It saves our team time
  • It allows us to keep track of where our customers are getting held up on certain pages.
  • Product knowledge. Everytime we get on the call with our rep, she never knows the answers to our questions and has to follow-up.
  • Service. We've found that many times our rep is unresponsive.
  • Customizing templates takes a lot of time and knowledge. They should create an easier way to have the platform easier to learn.
We've found that closing deals through Ocitv is very efficient and effective in saving our team time. A small team at our company has been using the beta version to display multiple quotes and proposals through our customized templates. The customization of templates allows multiple teams to leverage the software with little resistance from the client. We work with many legacy companies that still require a formal legal agreement.

  • The editor is wonky and feels finicky. I am constantly having to push around the table of contents. Did you get rid of the hand burger bar?
  • Undo redo will auto save not letting me go back and undo something.
  • Because of finicky editor I had to start a proposal from scratch.
Octiv is well suited for marketing, sales and client services departments. Generally it is a good software which more often that not helps save time. As I mention below, the editor and customization piece is cumbersome but I hope that functionality improves in time and keeps process and vice consistent. I think it less appropriate for organizations with custom services.

Clark Construction uses Conga Composer to generate reports based on Salesforce data spread across multiple objects. The reports generated are used in our business development teams and executives to keep track of our pipeline. The main area that Conga addresses is the limited functionality of standard Salesforce reports both in terms of the data they can aggregate, and the output format. We are able to create templates which our end users are familiar and comfortable with and output the data to a PDF.
  • Managing source reports for data is intuitive.
  • Output of various file types is easy to define.
  • Creating queries and leveraging SOQL makes for a powerful too.
  • Ease of copying fields to the specified output template.
  • Some special URL switches can be hard to find documentation for.
  • Accessing the template builder can be tricky.
  • Excel formatting can be a challenge with larger tables.
Conga Composer is well suited for reports and output formats that need some very hands on formatting. In my experience using Conga to manage the creation of PDFs and other documents is much easier than trying to output the data in another format or using Visualforce to generate PDFs programmatically. If you just need a crosstab of data though, standard reports and exports will work much better.

Being a boutique agency with a large social following, we get dozens of requests for proposals each month. The time it was taking us to create, edit and review these proposals was so time-consuming that it was impacting our ability to fulfill the engagements we already had. TinderBox has evolved into an incredible platform for us - we're now able to template our proposals with substitution strings for the client information. We're able to send and track the proposals. And we're able to redline them with customer feedback when necessary. Where it used to take hours, it now takes minutes to assemble and deliver a proposal that looks fantastic online. It provides a professional and sophisticated impression of our company - an absolute differentiator in our industry.
  • Simple to implement and use. If you're using Word to write proposals, distribute, redline and edit them... you're going to save time on the first proposal you write.
  • Impressive to our prospects. When we distribute our password-protected proposals, our prospects always comment on what a great experience it is.
  • A huge time-saver with its templating capabilities. We have standard engagements with our clients and we're able to control and update the messaging as needed, and still personalize it to each opportunity.
  • A company that listens and cares about their clients' usage. From day 1 at TinderBox, the team has been responsive to our needs.
  • Tracking and measurement show our success rates. We love the fact that we get notified when the prospect opens the proposal and that we can track our team's success.

Very well suited for large corporations that are processing a lot of proposals. This platform can reflect your brand physically and ensure that the proposals your staff are distributing are accurate.

We used TinderBox to create client proposals which are elegant and beautiful. TinderBox had provided a great platform. The users around me were able to send and track the proposals. It saved us lots of time and, of course, resulted in significant monetary value.
